Ok, so here are the shows I will be participating in this summer! Please keep in mind that ALL of these shows are juried art shows - which is good, and should mean that the caliber of the art work should be quite high!
Salem Art Festival
Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, OR
http://www.salemart.org/
July 18th-20th
Friday & Saturday 10am - 7pm
Sunday 10am - 5pm
This show is huge! Over 109,000 people attended last year's show! It boasts artists of every media and is set amongst beautiful trees in Bush's Park.
Cracked Pots
McMenamin's Edgefield Lodge in Troutdale, OR
http://crackedpots.org/
July 22nd & 23rd
Tuesday & Wednesday 1pm - 8pm
(yes, it is on weekdays - but that's because this show is so successful, they couldn't accommodate a weekend crowd! My friend came last year and thought there must have been a rock concert going on, but no, that was all the people coming to Cracked Pots alone!)
This show is so much fun to go to and to participate in! It is all about recycled art and it is all garden art specifically. Plus, you can grab a pint of beer to sip on while you walk around the grounds and check out all the cool art. Definately worth skipping work for!
Arts in the Forest
Mary S. Young Park in West Linn, OR
http://www.marysyoungartsfestival.com/
August 16th & 17th
Saturday & Sunday 10am - 6pm
This show is set in a heavily forested park with artists' booths lining the paths. There will also be performing artists there - I personally can't wait to check out the acrobatic tree dancers!
West Linn Arts Festival
Willamette Park in West Linn, OR
http://www.westlinnartsfestival.com/
September 13th & 14th
Saturday 10am - 7pm
Sunday 10am - 5pm
This show will be in it's new location this year along the Willamette riverfront. They will have over a 100 artists and craftspeople displaying their art. They also will have some cool jazz bands I'm looking forward to!
